CANADA WEST BIOSTEEL PLAYER OF THE WEEK I ARTEM HRABOVETSKYI

LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western second-year forward Artem Hrabovetskyi (Kyiv, Ukraine) has been named the Canada West BioSteel men's hockey player of the Week.
 
Nov. 28 vs ALB: 3 goals, 1 assist in 7-3 win
Nov. 29 vs ALB: 1 goal in 3-2 shootout win
 
Artem Hrabovetskyi had five points over two games in what stood as a historic weekend for the Spartans, as they swept Alberta for the first time in program history.
 
Hrabovetskyi tallied TWU's first-ever hat-trick in men's hockey since entering Canada West to lead the Spartans to a 7-3 Friday night win over Alberta. The following night, the sports management student scored again to help TWU to a 3-2 shootout win.
 
Hrabovetskyi is now second in team scoring with eight goals and five assists in 16 games.
 
Hrabovetskyi and the Spartans will now face off against cross-town rival UBC Thunderbirds in a home-and-home series. TWU will host UBC at the Langley Events Centre on Thursday, December 4, at 7 p.m. (PT) and then travel to Vancouver for a 7 p.m. (PT) game at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on Friday. Both games can be seen live on Canada West TV.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
