Colette Van der Hoven (Maple Ridge, B.C.) has been named the Canada West BioSteel women's basketball player of the Week.
Nov. 28 vs LET: 27 pts, three steals, three reb while shooting 68.8% from the field in 87-66 win
Nov. 29 vs LET: 16 pts, four steals, seven reb while shooting 41.2% from the field in 70-57 win
The Van der Hoven averaged 21.5 points per game in a decisive weekend sweep of Lethbridge, including a career-high 27 points while shooting 68.8 per cent from the field in Friday night's win.
The sports management student also averaged 3.5 steals and five rebounds per game to help lift Trinity Western to its eighth straight win and send the 10-2 Spartans into the break leading their division for the first time in program history.
Van der Hoven and the Spartans will now head into Christmas break and return to action on January 9th, taking on UBC at the War Memorial Gym. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
