LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western second-year guard Colette Van der Hoven (Maple Ridge, B.C.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after averaging 21.5 points/gm to help lead the Spartans to a weekend sweep of the Lethbridge Pronghorns and extend the Spartans' winning streak to a program-best, tying eight games.

On Friday night, the sports management student had 27 points, three rebounds, and three steals in the Spartans' 87-66 win at the David E. Enarson Gym. Then on Saturday night, Van der Hoven had 16 points, seven rebounds, four steals, three assists, and one block in the Spartans' 70-57 win over the Pronghorns at the Langley Events Centre.

Van der Hoven and the Spartans will now head into Christmas break and return to action on January 9th, taking on UBC at the War Memorial Gym. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
